I have stumbled on a 1961-62 Mini Cooper. It has been poorly stored and is VERY rough with some disassembly already done. The owner is willing to part with it and he said it has a clear title. What I am wondering is what a really rough mini might be worth? I suspect the motor is froze up because all the spark plugs are missing and the hood has been off for a long time. I'm thinking $200 to take it off his hands. The car is in Southeast Michigan.

Mini coopers are way cool. The one in question sounds like it may be too lunched out to fix though. Just gotta ask yourself " how much do I want to spend fixing this car"?
Take a few pictures of it, post them here so we can see how much rust it has. We need a better Idea of the condition it is in.

For me to photograph this car I would have to unbury it and remove all the trash inside the car. It is completely filled with all kinds of odd junk. I'm not that interested in it to put forth that much effort. My gut tells me it is badly rotted all over and the motor is absolutely trash. I was just interested in knowing if the car had any historic value such as being the first year of production or something unique like that. Thanks for responding.

And yet you are thinking about buying it to restore?

If it is partly buried, then it probably is so badly rusted that it isnt repairable.Still could yield some usable vintage parts though.
Knobs, handles,chrome pieces, engine trans etc. May be some good stuff left in her.
Not sure about the history part. If Mini's are your thing, knowing the history would be a valuable asset, especially when buying or selling cars, or parts etc.
