I live in Anchorage Alaska and have not found anyone that can competently make me a headliner. I want to do away with the old crappy cloth headliner and go with something like a modern car would have - even a solid plastic would be a dream- though anything better than the cloth with bows will do- suggestions, pictures, how to's anyone?

A lot of it depends on the type of car and how flat the roof is. Most modern cars have flatter roofs than the older ones. If it has the bows and a rounder roof, you may have to keep them. Years ago, I made a headliner for my 55 Chevy, that had loops for the bows. Didn't fit real well, but would have been better if I had measured better.
