would relocating the injectors on a multi-port engine help any at all, as far as mileage goes? not looking for power or worried about emissions, just mileage. i am thinking about placing them say, near the throttle body, or right before?

Without actually running the numbers through UGS, I would say that it would be a bad idea.

The placement of the injectors is meant to introduce fuel at the optimum point of air velocity, therefore properly atomizating the air/fuel mixture for the best combustion.

If you put them near the TB, you'll be using a dry-flow manifold for wet-flow, which is liable to lead to fuel separation issues.
