Painting a semi cab that is mostly aluminum and it was sugested that I use omni polyester primer over the aluminum panels but use omni mp 170 over the bare steel parts first. What I need to know is if I spray the polyester primer over the mp 170 after it has sit for 24 hrs do I need to sand the 170 first or can I just spray it without sanding?

The primer came from the local auto parts and the guy who sold it to the truck owner didnt know much about it. There are no full-time paint stores close by and that has always been a problem here. Thanks for the info:)

I think it will be fine. To be safe, spray a test patch on an old paint can to see fo there is a reaction but I doubt there will be any problem.

Ok I sprayed it, No problems as far as lifting but adhesion was what I was concerned about.
