Ok I know this is blasphemy, and im sure im gonna catch some crap for this but I want some quiet/mellow mufflers for the bracket car im putting together. 600ish HP SBC on alcohol. Im really liking the Borla Turbo XL mufflers. This isn't a max effort/heads up type car so if I lose a few hp im not gonna sweat it. I hate LOUD and I like to be able to hear if there is any engine or drive train noise. Only problem is Borla's website is very vague on the specifics of these such as cfm. Ive googled them until im blue in the face. Anybody have any experience and or opinions of these? I'll be running the 3 inch pipe size of course. Thanks in advance.

Guys on here turned me on to Dynomax. You can get different size cases on them, and the 3 inch center in- center out model you can drop a beer can straight through.
(They also make a bullet design, but they are super loud...)
I'm not sure, but it seems to me like you wouldn't lose any power at all with the case type. Plus they are quiet until you lean on the loud pedal. They really do sound amazing!!

Not blasphemy to me plus I have a serious aversion to exhaust fumes, story for another time. 3" exhaust and offset Flowmasters stay on at the track. Yes it would be a compromise, so it goes.

I wonder why I can't find anything about the Borla turbo XL either it isn't very popular or the cost could be a factor. I know I had the XR1'S before which were awesome but were bordering on loud. But the sound sold me on borla. May just have to man up and try em

Not blasphemy. I put a flowmaster race 40 series on my road race car as it was killing me w/ straight pipes or bullets. Motortrend Engine Masters did some muffler testing and found the straight through mufflers cost NO power
