Ok I've got a 1980 Trans am with a basic Chevy 350 in it. Always runs great very reliable and all that good stuff. Today I started it and as usual pulled it out of my garage and parked it on the street, shut it off and came back about 20 minutes later and it wouldn't start. It will just crank endlessly it's getting power and gas but it seems like no spark. I have done nothing different to it besides an oil change last week and I put full synthetic into it for the first time.

I am at a loss right now any ideas?

If you have no fire, One would think ignition module.

What type of distributor is it. If it is an HEI the most common items are the module or the rotor. The rotor will burn a hole right through the center and will short out the spark. If it is points or an electronic with an external coil use the troubleshooting ignition WIKI article I wrote.
