Hi i am new here but i was wondering if any one here can help me figure out whats wrong with my car.
My car is a 1989 plymouth acclaim lx v6 3.0l
I get a random stalling sometimes when driving around town when at low rpms. My mechanic thought it was a distrubtor, so we pulled one out of a rear totaled acclaim and that didnt work. Now it sometimes gives me no gas for a couple seconds then i get my gas back again. After that the check engine light stays on. This is now mixed in with the stalling.
He then checked the computer but the injection light was on indicating the computer was sending a signal to the injectors.
Next he put a gas gauge on the fuel line to see if it was the fuel pump. We left the car running for 3 hours and it stayed a constant 48 with no stalls.
We just can't figure out whats wrong with my car. I got it free from my uncle who maintanied it regularly. It only has 121,000 miles on it. I also have put about $600 into it. I am not about to give in to getting rid of it. I want to know whats wrong with it. Can anyone help?
