I have a 1980 Camaro, and adding Z28 parts, I have removed my Cluster and installed a 1980 Z28 cluster, I need to know how to re-wire it to work right. I have already ran a wire from my distributor for the Tach, I just need to know where on the big plug to put it.. Nothing on my Cluster is working at this time.

Any help would be appreciated.

white wire from coil goes to tach in dash

make sure ground to cluster plug is good also

black wire

no ground and nothing will work

Can I add that a bad ground is worse than no ground?

what I did was run a wire from the coil, to the main plug on the cluster. Someone else on this board pointed to a diagram, that showed multiple wires had to be moved on the main wire harness, and the coil wire ran to the number one plug. Once I did this and put the cluster in place, Cranked the car and my RPM guage is now working fine. Thanks to all the help.. Now, I see a couple of you said Ground. On the back of the RPM guage are 3 stluds with plastic looking screws of some sort are tight on them, Nothing is coming off of any. I have no idea, if I need to do anything there.
