Does anyone have a picture or description of what type speedo connector goes here?

700R removed from a 1985 Chevy Caprice wagon, 305-4 barrel.

Thanks!

Looks to me like that part sticking out is the end of the speedo cable that has broken off the cable. I think that model didn't have a screw on connector
but a clamp on type due to the hold down foot beside it, like a distributor hold down foot. Look again!

the mechanical style speed-O bullets are held down with that design retainer clip.

That speed-O bullet looks like a phenolic resin material and it is broken off as the folks mention.

You will need to find another speed-O bullet and perhaps the matching gear

Thanks to all. Once I cleaned the grease out of the way the problem was obvious. Yes, the plastic piece the cable screws onto is broken off. I went by a local transmission shop and picked up a replacement.
