Just bought a 28 ford pickup with a jaguar rear end.
Can someone please tell me how to figure out what year it is?
It has four coilover shocks and it has what looks like metal cups that cover the u joints.

Check with these guys Independent Rear Suspension Forum At first glance its probably out of an XJ6 or XJ12 somewhere in the 80's maybe, need alot of other info to nail it down, gear ratio/ is it Posi? and possibly check for some stamped dates on the center section by the rear cover.

XKE rears were the most popular for An A, they were narrow enough to fit , xjs were wider but could have been narrowed. Yours is still in the factory cage so identifcation is more difficult.

At first glance i thought it looked like it was still wide in the pic but, after looking at the pics of the one I just narrowed , It very well may be an XKE.
