I bought a pair of unilug aluminum slots for my 62 Galaxie. I have seen other unilug aluminum wheels that had a filler with an offset hole in the back of the wheel. I'm assuming that my wheels need these. I haven't cleaned them up yet so I don't know if they are stamped as to who made them. Does anyone know where I can find these fillers?

Any help appreciated.

I have never seen these fillers...........If the lug nuts are the same width in the collar area as the hole is across, you don't need anything.

Some unilug wheels came with an offset washer that sat in an indent in the wheel.

Can you show us a picture with the lugnut in it....from the back?

Only certain brands used the "Filler" type spacers. I needed them for some old five spoke mags this past spring. Looked everywhere!. Even my old faithful "REAL" Auto parts store couldn't get them. About a month later I scored a set on E-Bay!! and they were less than an hours drive away!!!

I have a few of those laying around.....I thought that the filler would fill the whole flange. Those washers are the type that I was talking about that fits in a recess in the flange.

Those are just the offset washers.. Some wheels produced in the seventies used a tapered slot filler, with an offset, or centered, stud hole, about 5/8" thick. It was inserted into the slot and a thick, centered, lug washer was used on the mag style nut. They were not real popular and better systems have been used.

I have seen individuals try to use these old type wheels without the fillers and it will not work as there is nothing to center the stud in the oversized lug slot. The wheel will not stay tight and centered..

yeah like me. what a dumb ***. i got these Weld wheels at a garage sale and stuck them on my truck. after a couple days my truck started shaking violently on I-80 and when i pulled off the road i had one wheel with only one lug nut barely on it, one wheel with 2 or 3 and was missing nuts off the other two as well, i came close to dieing. i hate those kinds of wheels.
