On my mom's 95 chevy astro van we have replaced the brakes on several occasions and have tried different types of pads(using the anti sqeak gel that goes on the backside of the pad) but within a month, or even right away, they are back to sqeaking when you try to stop. The right rear also sounds like it gurgles to a stop...even after we replaced the cylinder. Any ideas?

sounds like the caliper is dragging. rotate the wheel while it's on a jack, can you hear a dragging noise?

disc disc or disc drum?

Are you using the "anti-squeal" silicone?

Some pads come with backing plates that are supposed to stop sqealing.

Are you replacing the rotors?

sorry about the delay....the dragging caliper would cause the brakes to squeak when stopping?...front disks squeak...back right drum gurgles. I beleive my dad replaced the rotors one time...they dont look to bad right now.

Beware of liftime warranty pads!!! Most are metallic and they do last a long time, but the last I checked, pads are cheaper than rotors. (Try buying lifetime rotors when you buy your life time pads)
