New generation, new platform, new engine equals growing pains. That said, this is pretty crazy. I saw a documentary style program on the newest Corvette. It seemed like every person involved with any aspect of design rambled on at great length about the the styling of the car. Not one person interviewed mentioned anything related to technical information and ideas. Based on all of the things I've been hearing, it supports my suspicion that the folks interviewed were not looking at anything concerning functionality.
I wonder if any of these tire shops tried more old school methods. With large tires I’ve seen a shop push the tire down to set it on the lower bead, and then pack the space between the wheel and the upper bead with a an inflatable donut coated with thick axle grease to make a seal. As you inflate the tire it slowly moves the upper bead and the grease and donut squishes out at the top. It’s messy, but it worked.
