Looks like some of the previous posts in this Interior section are gone!

We had a thread here a couple months back about where to get the BEST window replacement kit ... I was looking for it and can't find it.

Someone was saying that one of the kits were poor quality and difficult to work with -- especially the felt tracks that the door windows ride up and down in ... and someone else mentioned the site/company that had the best kit. Anyone remember who it was? Was it RB's Auto?

I need new door windows and the felt track kit, etc. for my truck ... also, new weatherstripping/door seals - any help is surely appreciated.

bullheimer -- I've dealt with Golden State before and after sending me the wrong stuff 3 times in a row, I felt they were higher priced and lower quality than what I've experienced since.

Gassman -- Do they have a site? That's a new one to me ... I'll check 'em out.

zonk -- Someone here went through two kits - one sucked and the other was the real McCoy - I think rbsauto.com might be the one that's got the real McCoy ... Stovebolt and AmericanClassic are new to me -- I'll check 'em out.

Chevy Duty's kit is like $40 or something ... compared to LMC's kit at $140 for both doors -- something is going on there, eh? And neither one explains anything about the kit -- frustrating!

I agree ... bending yer own is simple enough.

I'm in no rush, so I'll figure this puppy out and post the best kit here when I know the truth : "Will the REAL kit please STAND!"

WoodsEdge : Thanks for posting - LMC's looks the best to me so far and it's good to know you tried theirs and are hapy with it.

Kevin45 : Unfortunately, Chevy Resto World only starts at 1955 ... and they don't mention trucks at all. SoffSeal is definitely the way I'm going on weatherstripping ... I've heard nothing but the best about them. Thanks.

Jim Carter's is definitely cool - I have their catalog, and I love all the great pictures/artwork/ads of the old trucks ... problem is, it's in pdf format and I forget to look through it when I'm browsing all my other cat's.

They have hard copies, don't they? I'm gonna buzz over there now and see.

I ordered the following :
Door weatherstrip set & cab weatherstrip set
New door glass - both sides
Window channel kit
Rubber window stops
Plus, I decided to get new handles with one door lock cylinder assembly so I can finally lock her up.

I don't think it's a difficult install and I'm sure looking forward to doing it. Right now, my window channels are ridiculous -- the top-back corners aren't IN the door ; they're sticking out about 3/4 of an inch, which makes me think the windows aren't cut right and on windy days I can feel the wind blowing in. Plus, the window channel kit includes an anti-rattle kit ... these are 2 strips that run along the bottom of the window (where you rest your arm when the window's down) - felt on the inside and rubber on the outside of the glass - at present, I don't have these and more wind gets in.

I just installed AC and I want to enjoy it, so I figured I'd best sure up the doors before the real hot weather comes.
