How much nitrous in stages is consistant, safe and reliable?
That depends on your motor's capacity for additional power, and your method of applying the NOS, and your cars ability to put the power to the track.

If your motor isnt overbuilt to accept what you throw at it, poof. I see plenty of peoples cars set up to 300+300, and am sure that the Pro type classes use much more than that.

There are some local grudge racers in my area that I talked to one day. They have a plate and two foggers on a small block ford... runs high 7s in the 1/4 in a fox body. I believe they told me by the end of the track they are spraying around 800-1000hp. So... if your engine is built for it you can do it but It totally depends on what you have and what your working with. Too many variables to say xx amount is safe.
