1986 Chevy cavalier cs 4 cyl, fuel pump in tank changed.
car would only run if someone would spray gas into carb, changed fuel filter, still would only run if someone would spray gas into carb, changed fuel pump and this time, it will not run even if gas was sprayed into carb. This time was different because, now there is no spark. checked all weirs, shifted auto. trans into N and P and bumped the trans. shifter in case tans shifter might have been in wrong position. can fuel pressure from the pump (new) affect the no spark condition? found leak in fuel line. but pump works fine. at any rate we still can't get it to fire up. spraying gas because there is no spark. hard to believe that changing fuel pump and filter could affect the no spark condition. also hard to believe that the coil could go bad at the same time. seams like some kind of lockout condition. need help. thanks.
