1994 Ciera 26' mercruiser 350. The boat was swamped in the engine compartment in storm. Replaced coil, internal ingn module in distributor, plugs, rotor, cap, replaced mechanical fuel pump (old, faulty) with electronic one, starter solenoid, dialed in distributor, replaced carb, water in tank, pumped flushed tank, fuel clean, added methyl hydrate.

Started engine, started on third hit. dialed in timing, carb etc.... Ran well for about 20 minutes then began to serge, RPMs dropped (surging) oil pressure sounder went off, shut down immediately. Pulled distributor, pressure tested oil pump, fine. Tested spark, week. Pulled batteries, charged on trickle over night. Taking down to try and start it again today.

Where do I go from hear ??? :drunk: :welcome:

Oil is clean.
Turned over when changing the plugs.
Blew out lines, drained tank (with pump) flushed tank, tested fuel, good, before adding 200 ltrs.
Serging, oil buzzer went off when surging.

Salt water usage with fresh water engine cooling heat exchanger.

Sounds like I ran out off fuel. Yes it dose. Checked fuel (water trap fuel filter, good) good fuel flow (8 psi)

NoteTech,

Check the fuel filter in the carb. Any trash in the lines will plug this filter. Also disconnect the throttle cable so you can operate the carb from the engine and not the helm. Then crank it over and spray some starter fluid in the carb. If it runs for a moment then you know it is fuel.
