The paint job looks out standing.

I congratulate you for a job well done.

What brand of paint did you so?

Jimbo
:) Thanks.

Summit Racing Single Stage Acrylic Urethane and Summit Racing 1:1 Epoxy primer. I also used some of their 2K High build but mainly just the epoxy, I liked how it laid out alot better and it was still pretty easy to sand. I think I just need more practice spraying the high build... gun sets, distance, etc.

Beautiful job!!! But you better get rid of the cat....An electric fence deal connected to the car should work wonders.
Heh, Thanks. :) The pics are actually at my neighbors house, he assured me the cat was not a jumper...:) I cant figure out if he was sniffing the fresh paint or saw his reflection...

It was a lotta work, but being able to say I did it all and in the garage to boot, makes it all worth it! Cant wait to try something else... I have a 98 vette that needs the rockers fixed and resprayed... that might be next.

Very nice, Tell be about your cut and buff process. What grit papers and blocks did you use ??
Sure...try this out, I think you'll like it.

2000 wet on a "glazing block" to knock the "peel" down don't be stingy with the paper, when it dont cut, toss it, , Then Meguiars "Ultimate Compound" and a Yellow buffing pad... Very fast AND effective... and I've tried many different buffing compounds and this one ROCKS.

If you are super anal about swirls, you will want to follow up with a swirl remover and polishing pad. I didn't do mine yet because I havent had time for that step. It looks good with just the process I mentioned above.

Cruise Night

Took my Babys (cars 'n' girls) to the last Cruise-In of the year last night. Got some great feedback on the Novas...

My friend Sonny came with us in his 71 SS 4spd he bought new. It was also painted recently. It has hand buffed base/clear and its amazing looking. (Pro Job)

Glad you liked Meguiar's compound. That is what I use and actually all that I use. I try to use all of Meguiar's products from car wash to compounds, haven't found any that I didn't like.
