i was reading in the summit catalog that there is a oil filter mount that does not have the "bypass valve" like a stock oil filter mount. this is what it says in the catalog:

"Sin-on filter mount comes without the high pressure bypass valve found on stock filter mounts, ensuring that all oil travels through your oil filter before entering your engine."

Here is the part number:

SME-2015 Oil Filter Mount, Chevy Block Most 1968-Up w/Spin-On, No Bypass, w/Bolts and O-Ring

Does anyone have any input on this, sounds like a nice thing to add but just curious if anyone has used one and seen if it works good.

thanks,
mike

I use them on all our competition engines. You'll need a good filter too. A cheap one will give you problems with the excess pressure at cold start up. Usually the cotton collapses. Use a Fram HP4. There readily available and cheap at $10.
