I just picked up an engine from a junk yard. On the side of the oil filter housing is some kind of sensor. I'm trying to find out what it is. This engine was pulled from an 85 Suburban. It's a 350sb. On my other 350, theres a plug in this spot...should I replace the sensor with the plug?

OIl pressure sensor or low pressure cut off.

Could be oil temp as well. Without pictures there is no way to tell. In either case if your car doesn't use/need it just plug it.

the thingy seemed like a temp sensor, just wasn't sure. I don't have any pics though.
