I'm running a 401 Buick Nailhead in my street rod. I have about 5K miles on the engine and have had not troubles. I decided to install a oil temp gauge and placed the temp sender in the aluminum oil filter adaptor where it will get a good flow of oil over it. I was surprised at the temp when on the road 275-280. Seemed like a logical place to put the sender but that temp is too high. Could it be the sender location?
