I am going to attemp to take pictures step by step on certain aspects of my T/A construction to help other in doing the same thing. The things listed below will be done to the car and will be recorded and potographed step by step to aid folk like me who understand things through sight. If their is something you would like to see thats not listed below please feel free to ask, if it fits my plans and theme of the car I will do it. All ideas are welcome.

  • Floorpan repair (not OEM replacment).
    Trunk pan repair (not OEM replacment).
    Partial flip front end (not full do to the urethane front end).
    Shaved door handles.
    Door lock coversion to lach meck.
    Dash/center consol fabrication.
    New gauge set install.
    Aluminum polishing.
    Aluminum hood scoop fabrication.
    Aluminum headlight bezle fabrication.
    Aluminum stearing wheel fabrication.
    Aluminum intake fabrication.
    Custom painting.
    Basic bodywork.
    Custom masking (using fine line tape).
    Frenching.
    Building a make-shift spray booth.

Hail to the King(Halloween King that is) he's the hero of the day.
I would like step by steps of all that infor and many thanks for the effort and work to put this together for us.

Can't help you there Camino, I'm travel alone. Although I could with a little information come up with a plan that would indeed ease the tension on what you do with some cash in the garage, but it will require some work on your part. Even though I don't spend much money while doing things like this, most of the exspenses are a one time thing like welders and polishing equpiment. The only things that are reoccuring is sheetmetal, polishing wheels and rouge and wire for the welder, but most of that is rather inexspensive and will last a few prodjects. My budget for the T/A is $3000 including wheels, machining, tires, and any other things I may need like wiring, sterio, body supplies, paint, interior, interior fabric and supplies. I will try to keep track of the funds on paper too just to show you it can be done. I got the car for free, engine and tranny for free, already had the carb and interior, but will be replacing that. If I spend all $3000 I will be suprised.

I got my wife to go along with my current project by selling her on the idea that I could get the car on the road as a daily driver for around $1,800. My plans were based on a good friend who owned a welding shop to do the hard stuff. Of course, things never actually pan out as foreseen and somewhere in the mix: we moved, twice; parts I had planned to use "as is" were worn out more than I thought; I got hooked on eBay and bought everything that I could find to buy at a killer price (you used to find alot better deals there than you can now); and had no idea how to build a car from scratch myself.

So today, my daily driver custom '53 Plymouth is still in the garage with a second exhaust system being put on (by me) and tranny leak needing to be fixed. So far I have $5000 in it and my wife is... uh, unhappy!?!

I have had tons of fun, learned even more, and after the above mentioned tasks are completed, I will have a daily driver, maybe. I have driven it about 2000 miles total, but that doesn't seem to satisfy my wife. <img src="graemlins/boxing.gif" border="0" alt="[boxing]" />

I'm the kind of guy that will understand new things better with pictures, so I think this is a great idea. I know this is an old post, but did you ever get the pictures done? I've seen all the write-ups in the knowledge base, but none of them have step by step pictures like you are describing. Thanks
