does not enough reducer in enamel cause more orange peel? im painting black satin and used 3 to 1 ratio and didnt turn out good, would 2 to 1 or half and half be best. im new to doing paint and body so is there any trick to avoid orange peel? im using sherwin williams satin black enamel.

Paint should be mixed according to the paint manufacturer's recommendations. Orange peel is gun adjustment and technique.

Generally orange peal is gun adjustment, but too little reducer can make it difficult to lay down a smooth finish. The young man I had apply the final coats of clear to my 34 body over-reduced the last coat of clear and it laid out as smooth as any finish I have ever seen and required minimal color sanding.
