I'm in school right now for Auto Collision and Management. I'm having to do a research paper on the benefits of downdraft paint booths versus cheaper booths like cross draft and semi downdraft. I've been searching yahoo and mostly just find companys trying to sell their product. If anyone know of any good articles on paint booths or comparisons of different types of paint booths. i.e. how they work, why downdraft are better. I know why they are better but I'd like to get a professional point of view. or some good search tips I'd greatly appreciate it.

I know this is a long shot and probably won't get any responses but this paper is due in a week and need any help I can get.

Downdraft paint booths work just as the name states. Its basically like painting on top of an upside down vacume cleaner. All the overspray, dirt dust and fumes are sucked out of the air straight down. This helps minimize or almost eliminate any dirt or dust from the floor or walls or the car itself from contaminating your painting serface. Other booths like side draft and top ventalation are moe likely to have contaminated paint due to the direction of the air movment whether it be up or horizonal instead of directly down.

Check out BlowTherm paint booths, they should have some specs on their booths that will help. If not e-mail them and ask them which is the best booth and why, you'll get your info. Don't tell them why you want the info, just inquire.
