Paint flattener

I shot some Centari paint in my engine compartment, I tried it with flattener addative on an old door, all it did was thin the paint and make it run. What did I do wrong? What does activater do for paint?

i dont know how you "shot" it but it wasnt supposed to run on you at all, u probably did something wrong, a flattener makes your paint/clear coat look less glossy, "deglosser"
