Be sure to read all tech sheets before you mix chemicals. Flattener as stated will 'degloss' and make the paint dull, activator is usually used in basecoat to make the paint 'active' and cure. It sounds like the paint was thinned too much with reducer or thinner or you mixed too much of one as opposed to the other... again be sure to read all labels and tech sheets.
Paint flattener
I shot some Centari paint in my engine compartment, I tried it with flattener addative on an old door, all it did was thin the paint and make it run. What did I do wrong? What does activater do for paint?
