I went to spray on Black Lacquer paint with a Sharpe 998 Siphon feed HVLP gun(I know buy a regular HVLP)and at first it sprayed on nice and than it seemed to spray on good but the paint was drying gray looking and no matter how much I put on or adjusted the gun it was the same results.
Does anyone have an idea what I am doing wrong?

Whats the humidity like?
I think the 998 is the gun I bought from the snap on guy years back. Used it one day, and told him to take it back, I didn't want it.

The 998 I have is a Snap On gun made by Sharpe. I just came out of the garage where I was checking the gun out and noticed that the vent to the cup was blocked. So this and the high humidity today did me in.
