Is it adviseable to paint parts before assembly and then touch up the exposed threads that were chewed up during assembly afterwards? Will a threadlocker prevent seizing and rusting of threaded connections?
Maybe just me, but I don't paint but maybe two or three threads when painting bolts (tape 'em off) as I don't want that paint in an area that may need torque. Thread locker or sealant (if required on that particular installation) seems to prevent any rust creep. On simple sheet metal attachment I paint the whole thing or use stainless.
