Is it possible to successfully paint a single stage paint over Clearcoat using a sealer? Just looking for coverage without a wrinkle or chemical texture.
I am wanting to paint a truck bed that has had the wheel openings repaired with new metal.

As long as it's clean and sanded, clearcoat is a really good sealer in itself.
Bodyshops do not remove clear coat before painting over it unless it's failing.

No need to add a sealer. You can paint directly over the clearcoat. Actually best to limit the material on the car.
