My 36 chevy is in need of a new finish. The car was repainted in what appears to be enamel. I would guess the paint job is 15 years old anyway.I would like to paint the car , nothing fancy, this is no show vehicle. I was thinking of just shooting it with epoxy primer like I see on many rods.Should I just fine sand the existing finish smooth or do I have to remove all the old paint? The old paint is not peeling, just an ugly color. Do you think the epoxy primer will lift the old paint? At this time, removing everything and stripping the metal bare is something I'm trying to avoid.I know how to paint and have the proper tools and safety equipment, just am not current on the latest finishes thanks.
