I wanted to see what everyone thought here.
POLL:
Is it worth the money to add a roller cam either man. or hyd. in an engine that had a stock hyd. flat tappet cam.

It is better to start with a late model block. Roller cams are a big deal, but the retrofit kits are pretty expensive. It is like all things in performance, it is worth the money if you have the money.

yes. a roller cam will smooth out the valvetrain nicely. its kind of like having a soild lifter cam high end power, with hydraulic lifter low end. a best of both worlds situation. low friction and revvy.

:smash: we swaped from a solid lift to a roller set up in our rail job , after all the modifications to the heads, and the pistons ,the cost was about $1650,we started breaking rocker studs and only gained 3 tenths a sec at 1/8 mile, it did pull out a little better start to the 100 foot mark, but over all preformance verses price wasn't worth it for us.
