I have a 69 firebird that will be a weekend car i need some help with a camshaft selection. the car has a 455 CID 5c-4 heads 91cc performer intake, carb not selected yet , will not be turning more the 5400 RPM. 350 transmission 11 in converter (2200-2500) stall. 10 bolt rear that I am planning on 3.55or 3.73 gears. The car has manual brakes. Would like something with a loop but not to wild. thanks

Pontiac Cam

I ran the Lunati Pontiac Ram Air IV cam,lifter,valve spring set up in our 69 Firebird with the 455YH engine. Matched it with the factory Rochester Carb and had no problems at all. Car would push you thru the drivers seat about any time you got on the gas, but was a very dependable also. Had an excellent sound to it without bouncing the car all over the place.
Traded the car about 2 weeks ago, kinda miss it.

Firebird

The rear axle was a factory stock unit , I think it was a 3.23 ratio, not positive on that but it was close to that. Excellent on take off and good for cruising.
using the Ram Air IV cam required no stall converter.
