do you know which diff this is and in which cars it would fit?
It was in an axle of a 1981 caprice station with a 10-bolt diff cover. But it looks like a 12-bolt diff.
Please give me an idea.

thanks

If memorey serves me right, you have a 8.5 inch 10 bolt limited slip diff. 12 bolts hold the ring gear on, 10 bolts on the outer cover. the 8.5 was the only one that used a 30 spline pinion gear. the ratio of this set is 2.56:1 by 41 divided by 16 = 2.56
I believe it`s what you have anyway, but don`t quote me on that.

You're right, all the wagons had the 8.5" ten bolt.

They rarely came with a posi, good find.
