I had dents all over the stainless glass trim on my sons 69 mustang. Chrome shop said they couldnt do it but they could be polished. I roughed them out with a soft hammer and wood dollys (home made). Then file them with medium to smoooth files. Sand them with 320, 600, then 1200-1500 sandpaper. Buff them on a buffing wheel with medium and then finish with fine polish. They came out perfect.
Get the trim as close to straight as possible with the hammer and dolly 1st. It will save the metal from getting too thin to work with during the grinding process.

Are you sure they are stainless? Car makers have been using annodized aluminum a lot for these type of trim pieces. Repair is the same but polish proceedure is a little differnt from stainless.
