I have installed power brakes (TCI kit) on my 1950 Ford PU. I only get 900 psi. I have 20lbs vacuum at the booster. I have gone to a smaller diameter master cylinder and dual booster --TO NO AVAIL -- still only get 900 psi line pressure. The brake pedal has no fade and no excess travel -- like maybe 1" total. The length of the brake shaft -- between the master cylinder plunger and the mounting for the foot brake pedal actuator is app. 7".


I have talked with MANY folks about this and it seems to be a common problem --and no one has come up with a answer!

Disc or drum?
What size MC bore?
What caliper bore?
Does it stop ok? What's the performance conern?

All info I have says must have at least 1200psi to work up to snuff.

Answer those questions plus a couple more.
Where are you measuring the pressure?
What's your pedal ratio?

The problem may be the application to boost ratio. Applied pressure may be enough,but booster cant multiply the applied pressure to get the job done.

Those cheezie little boosters aint what they promise. Put a hydraboost on it. You will get pressure then.
