alright guys lets say if i was driving my 83 monte ss and i happened to turn the wheel and stomp on the gas and start spinning my tires and going around in circle and right as i come around the belt breaks why would this happen ?
Not sure why that would be happening, but you can probably prevent it from happening in the future by not turning the wheel and stomping on the gas and start spinning the tires and going around in a circle.
hmmm maybe your engine has soo much HP and torque that the power steering pump doesnt have time to catch up with the engine causing the belt to break.
but seriously it might be an alignment issue or a cheap belt?
With the high RPM of the engine, and the added resistance of the power steering pump building pressure to turn the wheels, broke your PS belt that was in poor condition. I would suggest buying a new belt, throw it back on there and keep practicing your winning sprint cup doughnut burnout's till you get it right! Signed; Jeff Gordon.
