Alright, so I sold my Camaro and bought a 1969 Impala. It has the matching numbers 327 and Powerglide still in it. What I want to know is what the best shift kit is, and what speedometer gear to use, as I put bigger tires on it. I don't have the rear end code as of right now, but the VIN is 164479L038503 and it's a 2-door hardtop. I have 28" wheels on it, and I'm pretty sure its a Posi rear end. Of course its a 10-bolt, but the axle model I'm not sure of yet. If anyone could help me, I'll be able to get the codes later today possibly.

Transgo makes a good shift kit.

But depending how many miles are on it a kit may not be a good option.

Is the speedo showing high or low?

If it is registering low you need a driven gear with less teeth.

High needs more teeth on the driven gear.
