Please someone help me. I'm a couple months away from paint, and I have changed my mind on primer 5 different times. My biggest concern is durability!! This car wont be a trailer queen, it will be driven. I hear that epoxy is super durable but self etch has great bonding and rust inhibitors. Right now I'm looking at that veriprime stuff by dupont but it says that you can't put body fillers on top of it. That would be OK but this is my first big project car and I can't guarantee that I wont need some. I'm probably going to paint with PPG paint, if that even matters.

Yes variprime is great to use on bare metal, you realy have 3 options first variprime it and grind off where you need to fill. Or you could always do your filler work first and then seal the metal with variprime. Or last seal it with variprime and epoxy over that, then when epoxy is dried scuff it with red scotchbrite and put your filler on top of that it is the best you could do just not the easiest.GOOD LUCK JEFF

I would also use the same system all the way if you start with Dupont then paint it with Dupont if you are going to paint if with PPG then use PPG primer to they are made to work together
