The subject/topic says it all. I have to shave/cut some bolts to get them to not bottom out and allow my spacers to their job but I am just wondering will 1/16" wear a belt considerably faster. The alt pulley is out in front of the crank by 1/16".

It is a 38" serpentine belt for reference.

Yep, and the chance of throwing it.

I've seen the centerline of the pulley's square but one pulley was longer so it appeared no good. Just a referance.

First question. Is it serpentine or just the multi-V flat belt used non serpentine?

The multi-V flat belts stay on better. The flat side of the idler spring type tensioners keep the belt well tensioned.

Not very many OEMs are within .060 alignment as far as "front to rear" is concerned. More importantly is the shaft centerlines parallel so the belt won't try to crawl across the pulley?

Nobody really notices how poor the OEM alignment is because the belts stay on very well.
