If you have more questions about what im trying to build just ask and ill try my best to answer them so you guys can help me. I have a 1984 chevy k10 with a 1989 oe roller block from a suburban. The motor has flat tappets right now and i am going to convert it to the hydraulic roller style block. Going with a comp cams xe282hr cam with edelbrocks e cnc ported heads, a performer rpm air gapper intake, and a 1407 750cfm carb with a manual choke. I know. A lot going on there. Going to be a toy. Not really using it for what a truck is meant for. My goal is to put all of those parts on the block in one shot. My problem is i have no idea what push rod length to get. I have a length checker to find out what exactly i need but i dont want to wait until i get to that portion of the build to order those parts. Is there an infinite number of rod lengths or can i buy more than one length that might be close and when i check it hope that i ordered the right set. I know. That’s expensive to do but im willing to do it.

Since we don't know what size the cam base circle is, we don't kow the height of the pushrod cup in the lifter body, and we don't know what length valve it is, and we don't know what minor "revisions" from stock location and angle on the rocker stud and valve centerlines.....it turns into a big crap shoot.

You'd have to order 7-8 sets in the common .050" length increments they come in, from 7.150" thru 7.450".
Gets pricey if you are going to use good pushrods, 1-piece chromoly .080" wall or better $800+

Well that sucks haha thanks so much though! So my best bet really would be using the length checker and seeing where it fits on the valve and then measuring the checker, and ordering from that measurement
