looking for the part #/name of the bushing or whatever keeps the linkage tight. its very loose and sometimes won't go into gear. i've heard through the grapevine that this is a common problem with 3 speed transmission. any diagrams or info would help. here is a pic. 1971 c10.

This bushing or grommet should still be available for your truck at your local Chevy/GMC truck dealer's parts counter for less than $5.
It was probably used without chnage from the 50-80s when standards went back to the floor for shifting.
