I pulled the motor from my 86 Pontiac Fiero, 2.8L v6. The car drove fine, power seemed to be OK, but not great...i thought it was about normal, but i don't know for sure. Turns out, on the back side of the motor, the push-rod was not under the rocker. So the valve was stuck closed. The motor is getting rebuilt ( the reason i pulled it). I was just curious, how much power was i loosing because of the valve not opening? I think it was on the intake side, but i don't remember. Thanks

At best it was at <80% of what it should have been, maybe even less.

What I'd be wanting to know is, why was the rocker off the p-rod.
