Who knows of a good brand? Becasue Im looking for one,but not one that picks everything up like other cars,bikes,etc... The cops around here are getting worse,I want to see them before they see me.
Thanks.
There are many good brands, Cobra is one of them. When it comes to radar detectors you get what you pay for. I have one, it's payed for itself to say the least.
Thanks Stu, That is what I was going to write but when I got to the bottom of currently written post, you had already said it so I'll just re-enforce it "OBEY THE SPEED LIMIT"! It is for safety ..., your own plus the other people out there on the highways and byways. It will also save you a lot of money that you could spend on your ride.
Radar detector = $200. to $300.
Traffic tickets plus cost of court = ?????
If you drive at a reasonable speed you will be surprised at the increased fuel economy.
My fuel milage already sux,an I6 wont get far fast, plus, everything is double sided in this world. No matter what you think about something, somone else has anouther side to it.
Plus when you get stopped a radar detector is just more likely to indicate that you need a ticket. It indicates a habitual speeding habit. If you do not have one you may be more able to talk your way out of a ticket.
Cigerate Ligher powered one and stash the **** under the seat if youre stopped. Or in my case, throw it behind the seat with the tools and sh!t and he wont see it.
Yeah, it's more important to constantly speed and go nowhere fast then to obey the laws. After all at 16 they like to take your license away much faster for disobeying. I think it's meant to get your attention before you have an accident and hurt/kill someone. But I've been around awhile so we older folks don't know anything. :nono:
Mine has paid for itself three times over. You can get a fined for just going with the flow of traffic. It's a useful item for guys like me who do alot of highway driving.
I never quite understood why you'd need one. I mean, once he radar's you and the thing goes off, he's got you, you can't do anything but slow down and pull over..
But if your going along and there's a stationary trap layed across the road, then I guess that would help you out...
Can't out run the radar anyway so once they hit on you they most likely have you. I've only had one speeding ticket in 40yrs of driving and that one was way to fast and dangerous and I almost lost my license over it. Got off on a technicality...their equipment wasn't kept updated.
