In order to alleviate a severe off-idle bog, I need to replace the rear-end gear in my 1968 Camaro.

Car has a 350cid, 10:1 compression, Edelbrock Performer RPM Heads & Cam, 800cfm Carb. TH350 with a 2200 Stall converter.

Car currently has a 3.08 rear gear in a 12-Bolt Posi unit.

What would the board recommend? 3.40 or 3.73?

Well my first thought would be the 800 cfm carb on a 350! A 600-650 would probally be a better choice. I would run your combo through a dyno simulator, then through a drag simulator. How tall are your tires? I did mine not long ago and the results suprised me.

I have to agree with Jordan.

Heck, my BUILT 462 Buick only runs an 850 Thermoquad.

Ford 390 runs a Carter AFB 650.

Ford 351M runs an Edelbrock 600.

I'd look there first.

Can't see that gear causing a bog...
