Hi.
I'm going to rebuild a couple of classic fog lights to long range lights.
I don't need fog lamps, but they looks rather cool, so I want to keep them.
They are not in very good shape, so I don't ruin any value.
I know the prism glass probably are not the best for the long range effect, but I can live with that.
Ihave change the bult holder to accept standard H3 bulbs.
Should I remove the "cup" in fron of the bulb?

Put a bulb in it temporarily & see what happens with the center in place.....have you considered LED's ?

Almost look like ferrari 250 gte fog lamp.

Being very careful you should be able to drill the center out of the old backing then inset a slightly smaller light hiding that other light within the lense housing with soldiered tabs.

This will expose the backside of the glass to moisture so you will need to have the backside drain. But, it will allow you to have the look of the old lense while being able to easily replace the bulbs.
