The one I remember, because it affected me is the 78-mid 80s GM rear backing plate recall. The rear brake backing plates would rust out and the wheel cylinders would come loose causing all sorts of problems. Their fix was a cheap liitle clamp piece, that didn't work worth a damn. They finally sold a wheel cylinder backing plate unit for about $15 for a few years. It came with a cutout piece, so you didn't have to remove the axles.
