That's not a bad idea, but I have an idea to add to it.
How about we make the lounge invisible to a person until they have twenty five posts in the tech forums. That might help keep all the chatroom types that are just surfing from congregating in the lounge, maybe they'll just move on. It might even keep us from having to listen to/sort through all the whining........
I'm with Troy-Curt - I would rather not see any of the posts when I click on New Posts or the last 24 hours of posts.
I'm here for the hot rodding related stuff. fark.com is where I get all my non-hotrodding stuff.
The last time this poll came around, I didn't think it mattered, but now, when clicking on New Posts, there are quite of few pages to go through and eliminating the Lounge would help get to the meat in a lot less time.
If the Lounge were separated, such as a "Go To The Lounge" link, I think that would be good for both sides of the fence. Those who don't want to see it wont, and those who like participating in the Lounge posts can see all the Lounge posts listed in one area.
I've been a member since the good ole days. When Chuck, Larry, Willys and I would yuck it up on a daily basis with the other regulars. Back then the lounge had it's fair share of car talk. Then the first graders moved in. I'm not too big on the post count delete either. I could care less about post counts as it is. I just don't like losing anything. I also don't mind where a post comes from..electronics.....engine...the lounge. If it looks interesting I check it out. This place it sounding more and more like politics. I getting turned off more and more....
How about we delete the post counts....and then the lounge....and then anyone with less than a thousand posts.....and then remove anything but the 350-383 questions....
sorry if you read an attitude into this post.....
my computer crashed and I got busy so I don't have a chance to get on as much as I used to. Every time I do pop on I hear complaining and change this and change that.
