anybody who has removed your front fender innerwells let me know why i should or shouldnt do this.. is it just butt ugly, dirty engine compartment,, how much weight will i save... any pics..?

What kind of car? Daily driver? Show only?
You may save 10 or 15 lbs. but is the mess worth it? If this vehicle sees any rainy day driving or muddy roads you will need to concern yourself with protecting the distributor from water and mud. You will probably also see stone dings on the underside of the hood. ain:
This is not a good thing to do on any vehicle that gets driven regularly...

I've been thinking about taking mine out too, but, as mentioned above, there's nothing to protect the engine compartment from water, rocks or whatever finds its way in there.

I think with the older cars, the skirt also gives the body some structural strength, just a theory. The car featured in the website has some tubular bars running from the firewall to the front. Also, depending on the make and model, you have to be concerned about the A/C heater blower, vents and anything else tucked up between the fender and the skirt.

i think more lile five pounds. they are light as hell. only remove if you are gonna use fenderwell exit headers.

I replaced mine with a plastic ABS pair I bought from Year One.

They protect the tops of your fenders from having stones tossed up against them. Can you imagine what your fender would look like after going down a gravel road? To get around that you would have to have spray in bedliner shot on the inside of the fenders.
