Hi all, I hope this is the right section to post this. I didn't see a region specific sub-forum or I would have posted there.

Does anyone have experience with salvage lots or other used parts places in the Cape Fear NC area? Specifically in regards to sourcing a used but complete LS (5.3 or 6) or a wrecked truck that would be suitable as a donor?

I would keep an eye out on CraigsList, FB Marketplace etc for something. A lot of trucks are rusted out but still have good drivetrains.

I would look in the rust belt... The GMT 800 trucks rust out quick and a decently low mile $3-600 4.8L or 5.3L is easy as pie to find. You can get a complete truck for $1,500 but you probably won't need a 4x4 4L60E that needs rebuilt and Holley Terminator X will be easier than a factory harness at this point, for similar money

Eventually possibly, that's still up in the air. The first swap is for my Nova. Currently has a 383 and Muncie 4 sp.

I've wanted to do an LS swap on it for ages.
