Restoring or Building

Hey, im going to get into a hot rod project this summer. Im on a very tight budget and i need a car that will last me through four years of college (not a racer), while looking good. So which would be better, building an old cruiser from the ground up, or restoring and old car from the 80's or so. <img src="confused.gif" border="0">

IF YOU ARE ON A TIGHT BUGET NEITHER CHOICE IS A GOOD ONE. THAT SAID I WOULD LOOK FOR A PROJECT THAT IS ALMOST DONE OR AT LEAST A VERY BIG PORTION OF IT, REASON BEING IT TAKES APPROX 2 YES I SAID TWO YEARS TO COMPLETE A HOT ROD FROM SCRATCH. AND YOU GOING TO SCHOOL YOU NEED A SHORT TIME PROJECT AND YOU MAY BE ABLE TO GET A GOOD DEAL WHEN THE OTHER PERSON THATS SELLING RUNS OUT OF ONE OF THE 3 R'S OF HOT RODDING R1 IS MONEY
R2 IS TIME
R3 IS INTEREST LOL :) )
BUT THINK ABOUT DOING IT THIS WAY YOU WON'T BE SORRY AND GOOD LUCK
